High Point 2025 Journal
After nearly a decade in the Interior Design world, I finally made it to my very first High Point Market! For anyone who lives and breathes design, you already know this is the mecca, the Super Bowl of all things furniture and decor in the U.S.
I got to walk the halls, peek into stunning showrooms, and not only see some of the biggest names in the industry but talk with them. From the owner of one of the largest rug companies to one of my childhood idols, it was surreal, truly my version of a kid in a candy shop.
To recap such an inspiring whirlwind of a week, I’ve broken down a few of my favorite finds and standout moments from High Point Market. If something here sparks an idea, a question, or even a wild redesign fantasy, reach out to me below! I love chatting about how to make these pieces (or the feelings they evoke) work in your own home.
Let’s Start from the Beginning
It’s 2:30 AM on Friday, October 24th. My loving boyfriend and Curio co-founder, Zack Petrocca is graciously chauffeuring me to the Albany airport while I’m talking his ear off about my excitement and how to best optimize every moment at Market (because, of course, my perfectionist Virgo energy had already time-blocked my entire Google Calendar).
Two flights and one Uber later, I finally land in North Carolina, famished, exhausted, and hangry. As I wander over to the nearest pho restaurant, I’m suddenly overwhelmed with gratitude.
That evening, I find myself at the most incredible mid-century home where The Expert x PRB are hosting the most deliciously vibey party (and yes, interior designers really are the best hosts). Every sense was considered: dim lighting, a killer playlist, the scent of perfect candles drifting through the air.
As I finally crash into bed that night, I already know my Oura ring will not be pleased with my sleep score this week. My feet and ankles are destined to ache, but my heart and creativity? They’re about to soar.
The Marathon Begins
From Saturday through Monday, it’s full-on design immersion: ten-hour days bouncing between showrooms, panel discussions, and spontaneous conversations that feed your soul. My step count averaged 16,000 a day (and I’d estimate about 1,000 squats from sitting on every sofa and chair that caught my eye).
Below are some of the standouts I’d happily “test-sit” again and again.
Sofas, Sectionals & Lounge Chairs
This year was all about redefining our own version of the Goldilocks cushion. We want options, the loungy, deep TV sectional that hugs the whole family; the structured reading nook chair that makes you feel composed yet cozy; the perfectly firm sitting area settee that invites conversation (and maybe a little gossip).
Each space serves a different purpose and the seating should, too. Comfort, proportion, and cushion density all become expressions of how we live.

Lighting
Lighting is the jewelry of the home and you know I love me some good jewelry.
Just like a necklace completes an outfit, the right chandelier or pendant brings balance and personality to a room. A table lamp should be scaled and styled as carefully as a ring is sized for your finger. Sconces? They’re the earrings, subtle or bold, depending on your mood, but always chosen with intention.
It’s about proportion, placement, and the magic of glow. The right light transforms everything.

Rugs
Rugs deserve their own love letter (and trust me, one is coming). They ground a space both literally and emotionally. At Market, I was drawn to the pieces that tell a story, handwoven textures, earthy palettes, and patterns that feel collected rather than purchased. The kind of rugs that make a house feel like a home.

Final Thoughts
By the end of Market, my camera roll was bursting, my notebook overflowing, and my creative tank completely refilled. There’s something so energizing about being surrounded by people who care deeply about beauty, comfort, and meaning in the home.
If High Point taught me anything, it’s that design is never just about furniture. It’s about how you want to live, how you want to feel in your space.
Here’s to sore feet, inspired minds, and bringing a bit of that Market magic home.
